League Information

Our Leagues

No worries about remembering which league to sign up for - the registration process will only make available to you what league your child is eligible for.

All ages are "Baseball Age" which is their age as of April 30, 2024 ( See chart below)

Please check back regarding game times, as they are subject to change.

Our season start date will be mid-April and determined in February. The season runs through June;  playoffs for Minors (formerly known as Juniors), International, Majors, and Seniors end mid-June. Instructional, Tee Ball, Lil Sluggers and Challengers continue to the end of June, with the last Saturday being our Field Day and Awards Ceremony.

 

CHALLENGERS LEAGUE - SPECIAL NEEDS PLAYERS

- For players starting at age 6 - through high school and Life Skills programming . Games and skills every Saturday morning at 10:00 am. We are expanding the program to utilize multiple fields and/or timeframes if necessary. Challengers will come to Meet the Coach to meet the team and coaches in March.

Tournament with other town leagues in June. *Players from other towns are eligible to participate.*

Our Challenger league is invited to the Field Day event at the end of the season.
 

Lil Sluggers League

- For players age 4. Games every Saturday morning at 9 a.m. from April to June, no extra practices. They will come to Meet the Coach held in March.

Our Lil Slugger league is invited to the Field Day event at the end of the season.

T-Ball League

- For players age 5 plus brand-new to BYBI 6-year-olds. Players will have fun league-wide practices Tuesdays at 5:30pm . Games played each Saturday, 10:45am-12pm. Tuesday practices will turn  into gametimes midway through the season. If necessary for more practice time, we will utilize part of the timeframe on Saturday.

- We do try to fulfill requests for coaches and teammates, however it is not guaranteed. They will come to Meet the Coach held in March.

Our T-Ball league is invited to the Field Day event at the end of the season.

Instructional League

- For players ages 6 & 7. Games played Saturdays at 3pm  and Wednesdays or Fridays at 5:30pm. One practice a week. Players will be pitched to by coaches; by end of season working towards some player pitchers.
-We do try to fulfill requests for coaches, however it is not guaranteed. They will come to both Evaluations and Meet the Coach held in March.

Our Instructional league is invited to the Field Day event at the end of the season.

MINORS League (formerly known as JuNIORS)

- For players ages 8 & 9. Initially coach and then player pitched. All 8's and 9's with minor exceptions i(f necessary). Three games a week during season, then playoffs. Minors play Mondays and Thursdays at 5:30, and Saturdays at 1pm. Minimum of one, maximum of two practices a week - practice time determined by coach and team for best availability.
-Players attend evaluations and are drafted - no coach or teammate requests.

Our Minors League is invited to participate in the Homerun Derby.
 

International League

- For players ages 10, 11, 12. Some 9's to round out International League teams and any players not selected for Majors teams. Some rule exceptions to aid competition. Two or three games a week until playoffs, minimum of one, maximum of three practices a week. Games are Wednesday, Friday, Sunday with make-ups on Mondays. Practice time determined by coach and team for best availability.
-Players attend evaluations and are drafted - no coach or teammate requests.

Our International League is invited to participate in the Homerun Derby.

Majors League

- For players ages 10, 11 & 12. Major League players will play on 50/70 fields. Two or three games per week, minimum of one, maximum of three practices per week. Major League players stay on the same team throughout their Major League career. Games are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday with makeups on Monday.  - practice time determined by coach and team for best availability.
-Players attend evaluations and are drafted - no coach or teammate requests.

Our Majors League is invited to participate in the Homerun Derby.

Seniors American and NATIONAL LeagueS

- For ages 13-18. Traditional Babe Ruth league format. Even if you play for high school baseball,  you can play with BYBI. We work with coaches for safe arm care. Two or three games per week, minimum of one, maximum of three practices per week.  Each year we determine to play only intown and/or play other towns.

For 2024, we will play in a travel team format for all players. Players will be divided by age - 13-14 (8th & 9th) grade and 15-18.
-Register your child for their correct age group (it will be what is offered to you) and after High School tryouts are conducted we will adjust the league they should be in. No overload of practices will be expected.
-Players attend evaluations and are drafted -  ALL PLAYERS will be placed on teams.

-Even if you are on a high school team, coaches recommend playing in-town for furthering skills and more game time.

Our Senior League is invited to participate in their own Homerun Derby.
